The
tournament kicked-off the Essence
Festival which was held in Houston, TX this
year while New Orleans continues to recover from hurricane
damage. We welcomed the star-studded event hosted
by the first lady of gospel Yolanda Adams.
The purpose of the golf tournament is to raise funds
for The Voice
of an Angel Foundation youth programs. Voice
of an Angel Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization,
founded by Yolanda Adams. Yolanda believes,
"Education is one of the greatest rewards for
me - not only to instruct young people but also to
mold them into great thinkers." Voice of an Angel
Foundation programs are designed to produce youth
who are confident and able to incorporate personal
motivation and resourceful thinking into everyday
life. Participants will emerge equipped with values,
skills, and attitudes that will enhance their future
success in personal, inter-personal, and professional
relationships.
Councilman
Michael Berry was the keynote speaker at the 19th
hole awards ceremony. Yolanda MC'd the event. The
day was a red carpet type of day with celebrities,
